Saules riets
Jau saule riet aiz tumšās mežu miglas
Sarkst padebeši vakars kalnā zvan'
No bērnības no tālām senām dienām
Man atmiņā vēl klusa dziesma skan
Tā dzimtenē aiz zilās mežu miglas
Reiz māte dziedāja kad biju mazs
Skrien gadi prom kā bezdelīgas žiglās
Nes visu līdz, tik atstāj atmiņas
Ai Bērnība, ai māmuliņa mana
Jūs projam sen, vairs atsaukt nespēju
Sarkst padebeši vakars kalnā zvana
Es sūtu Jums simts labu sveicienu
Already the sun sets beyond the dark forest fog
The clouds turn crimson night tolls upon the hill
From childhood, from days of ages long past
A soft song still sounds in my memory
So in my homeland beyond the azure forest fog
Once upon a time mother sang when I was small
The years fly by like swallows flitting
Carrying away all, leaving only memories
Oh childhood, oh mother mine
Gone long ago, I can't summon you back
The clouds turn crimson night tolls upon the hill
I send you a hundred glad tidings
